Why We Chose Bare Witness Cafe for Breakfast

Sunday mornings are usually a rush in our house—especially with my son’s soccer lessons. By the time we’re done, we’re all a little tired, a little hungry, and, let’s be honest, covered in dirt from the soccer field.
We wanted to grab breakfast somewhere easy—a place that wasn’t inside a shopping centre, wasn’t too crowded, and had outdoor seating so we wouldn’t feel awkward sitting in our post-soccer mess. Bonus points if it was near a park, so our toddler could burn off some energy after eating.
That’s how we landed on Bare Witness Cafe in Rhodes, and honestly, it turned out to be a fantastic choice.
A Café That’s More Than Just “Good Enough”

I wasn’t expecting much—just somewhere convenient. But what we got was something special.
The food was high-quality, the setting was beautiful, and the whole experience felt like a treat rather than just a rushed meal. It’s not something I’d do every single weekend, but for an occasional Sunday morning outing, it’s definitely worth it.
The Food – Simple Yet Special

🍳 Two Eggs Your Way ($15)
I ordered scrambled eggs, and while eggs are usually just eggs, these had a little something extra. The touch of chives or shallots made them more flavorful than your standard scrambled eggs.
But the real highlight? The thick sourdough toast with Pepe Saya butter.
The bread was incredible—thick, crusty, and toasted just right. And paired with Pepe Saya butter? Next level. It wasn’t just toast—it was something you actually remember after the meal.
🥚 Eggs Benedict ($28)
My wife went for the Eggs Benedict, which was a little pricey, but again, the quality of ingredients made up for it. The portion was generous, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was rich without being too heavy.
☕ Coffee & Drinks
We also had coffees, and they were smooth and well-made, exactly what we needed after an early morning at soccer.
The Atmosphere – Relaxed, Spacious & Family-Friendly
✔ Outdoor seating – Perfect for messy soccer mornings
✔ Next to a playground – My son had a blast playing right after breakfast
✔ Bright & airy space – Plenty of room, not too noisy
✔ Toddler-friendly service – The staff were attentive and thoughtful, bringing out child-friendly cutlery
It was exactly the kind of relaxed, easy-going café experience we were looking for.
Price vs. Value – Is It Worth It?
💰 Two Eggs Your Way – $15
💰 Eggs Benedict – $28
💰 Coffee – ~$5
It’s not the cheapest café breakfast, but I felt like we paid for quality—good food, a great setting, and an enjoyable experience.
Would I do this every Sunday? Probably not. But as an occasional treat, absolutely.
Final Thoughts – Why I’d Recommend It to Other Parents
If you’re like me and want to escape shopping centre cafés for a change, Bare Witness is a great option.
✔ Easy Sunday morning spot
✔ Good food that feels like a treat
✔ Outdoor seating & family-friendly
✔ Next to a playground – perfect for kids
Would I go again? Definitely. Not every weekend, but for a relaxed, good-quality breakfast with a toddler-friendly setting, this is a winner.
