Our Family Experience With the Merlin Annual Pass
We bought the Merlin Annual Pass because we kept ending up around Darling Harbour with our son and wanted flexible, low-stress activities we could repeat. The pass changed how we used the attractions.
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has been the strongest repeat attraction for us. Benji loved the Penguin Expedition, the shark tunnel, the discovery rockpool and the dugong zone. Because we had the pass, we did not feel like every visit had to be a perfect two-hour experience. Sometimes one good penguin ride and a quick walk through the aquarium was enough.
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo works best as a compact city zoo visit. It is not Taronga Zoo, and that is the point. You can see native Australian animals without committing to a full day, long ferry ride or major logistics.
Madame Tussauds Sydney is more dependent on your child’s age and interests. It is fun, photo-heavy and easy to combine with the other Darling Harbour attractions, but younger kids may not recognise as many figures.
